MCC APS — Airline Pilot Standard MCC

For an ab initio or junior pilot whose next step is airline selection or a type rating.

Who it is for

For an ab initio or junior pilot whose next step is the airline selection process or a type rating. If you have come straight through training rather than out of a military cockpit, this is the one to do.

The MCC proves you have met a requirement. APS is built to show you can operate to the standard of a pilot already on the line, which is what an airline is really trying to establish at an assessment. It covers everything the MCC does, so it is not a course you take as well - it is the one you take instead.

What the extra simulator days buy

Ten simulator days rather than five is not the same course stretched out. It is line-oriented flight training: full sectors flown as they would really be flown, with the weather, the delays and the changes of plan that make a day hard.

Jet handling at realistic weights and speeds. Scenarios demanding enough that the debrief has something worth saying. And enough repetition that the standard calls stop being something you remember and start being something you do.
